The Channel 4 Production Training Scheme offers Trainee Researcher opportunities across the UK, working with independent production companies on unscripted television productions. Trainee Researchers support the development and delivery of programmes by carrying out background research, contributing to editorial ideas, and assisting production teams.
Trainees will work full time within their host production company for the duration of the scheme, gaining hands-on experience while receiving structured training and support from ThinkBigger. The programme begins with a one-week TV Boot Camp, designed to prepare trainees for working in the television industry.
Trainee Researchers are expected to be inquisitive, have a strong eye for detail, and demonstrate enthusiasm for television production. Throughout the programme, trainees will attend monthly in-person training sessions alongside their on-the-job learning.
The scheme is aimed at individuals who may face barriers to accessing a career in television. Applicants may have completed a degree or have some previous industry experience, but must not have more than three months of cumulative paid television work experience.
