Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, practical, and creative apprentice to join our busy framing and printmaking studio. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to gain experience across both departments, working closely with a small, supportive team in a dynamic studio and gallery environment.

Role Overview

This apprenticeship is primarily workplace-based, allowing you to develop real-world skills through practical experience. You will divide your time between the framing department and the printmaking studio, contributing to day-to-day operations while building valuable administrative and creative skills.

Key Responsibilities Framing Department (2 days per week)
  • Assist with customer enquiries in person, by phone, and via email
  • Support the preparation and quoting of framing jobs
  • Help with frame assembly and workshop tasks
  • Prepare and package artwork for collection or dispatch
  • Assist with exhibition installation and artwork handling
  • Maintain organisation and care of artwork within the studio
Printmaking Studio
  • Serve and assist customers in the studio and shop
  • Pack and dispatch online and in-store orders
  • Prepare and mix inks for printmaking
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels
  • Respond to customer enquiries via email
  • Assist with updating products on the website
  • Support studio print runs and general operations
  • Prepare etching presses for delivery
With Training and Experience
  • Demonstrate printmaking presses to customers
  • Take on increased responsibility within both departments
Requirements Essential Qualifications
  • GCSE English (Grade 4/C or above)
  • GCSE Maths (Grade 4/C or above)

Additional relevant qualifications or industry experience are welcomed. The apprenticeship can be tailored to reflect your existing knowledge and skills.
