Key Duties

During your apprenticeship, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of Accounts: Assist in preparing financial statements, trial balances, and management accounts for clients across different sectors.

  • Tax Returns and Calculations: Support the preparation of personal, corporate, and VAT tax returns, including calculating tax liabilities and deductions.

  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and support clients with day-to-day bookkeeping.

  • Payroll Processing: Help process payroll, calculate wages, manage deductions, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.

  • VAT Returns: Assist with preparing and submitting VAT returns and maintaining accurate VAT records.

  • General Office Administration: Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, managing correspondence, and maintaining office systems.

  • Client Communication: Respond professionally to client queries and provide basic guidance on routine accounting processes.

Skills Required

  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively

  • Basic IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
